Film from San Francisco

These next few posts are film photos from San Francisco. This top one is my favorite. It's a double exposure of a sign and a fence. Thanks to Pasha for finally getting me to scan these haha.

Stuff

I entered a contest called the Young Photographer of the Year, which is sponsored by digital camera magazine. This guy I know Ren, told me I should enter a contest, and I thought why not... So I entered 5 images shown above.

Another Trip To San Francisco

So this and the next 6 posts are about the trip Pasha and I took to San Francisco on Friday. These photos were the highlight of the day for me, taken from the top of Coight Tower. All 3 are HDRs and the first is also a panorama. I also took a short timelapse of the clouds at Coight Tower which you can also see below.

True Story

Our first and only customers

As the day was drawing to an end, Pasha and I ran out of money and we became extremely hungry. Noticing a Boudin store by the Fishermans Wharf, we decided to try to buy a loaf of bread. Considering the fact that we only had $1 between us, this was not possible, and so we decided to invest in a brilliant idea. I thought that if we bought a sharpie and a small posterboard at Walgreens, we could make a sign saying Photos-$1 and sell them at Pier 39. So we bought our supplies, and we headed over to Pier 39 to earn some money. After about an hour of asking couples if they would like to get their pictures taken, we finally got our first customer. After another half hour of fruitless attempts, we gave up and left. So after almost 2 hours of work, we were right back where we started, with one dollar, not able to afford even a loaf of bread. The moral of this story is that if you ever find yourself broke and hungry, don't try to earn money, panhandling is likely more successful.

More Colorful

These were the more colorful photos of the day... All taken from various locations, the first and third are from near the Bay Bridge on Embarcadaro. The second one was taken on the way up to Coight Tower, and the last one was shot from the top of Coight Tower.

Urban I Guess

Some urban photos... not my favorites but I tried different kinds of editing on each one

Stairs

There are a lot of steps to walk up to Coight Tower, but it's definetly worth it because of the awesome views. We noticed the really cool lighting on this set as we were walking down and decided to take some photos. These are all unedited except for being cropped.

What a Cool Place...

So as we were walking up the 400 something steps to Coight Tower, Pasha and I found this old alley with some really cool photo spots. This was one of them... props to Pasha for the portraits

Coight Tower Timelapse

I decided to try and make a timelapse using a series of exposures that I took with my camera. After about 5 minutes of sitting on this wall pushing the button every 6 seconds I got a kind of bored. That's why the clip is so short. It's composed of 47 stills at 10 frames per second. Just a test... I really need an intervalometer.
